An iconic all-Aussie festival from the ‘80s could be making a comeback on New Year’s Day in South Australia.
As Adelaide Now notes, a proposal from the South Australian National Football League has been submitted to West Torrens Council for an event “very similar to that of the Australian Made concert”, a touring festival from the late ‘80s.
The last time Australian Made took place in Adelaide in 1987, the line-up featured INXS, Jimmy Barnes, Mental As Anything and more.
The proposed follow-up event would host six-eight Australian bands across one or two stages from 2pm – 11pm, with crowds of up to 25,000 expected, just shy of its ’87 attendance rate of 30,000.
The concert will be discussed at a West Torrens Council meeting tomorrow night, with the hopes it will be approved by the end of the week before an announcement is made in early September.
