Aussie punk rockers Luca Brasi have backed Labor’s new bid to stamp out scalping in Tasmania.
As The Mercury reports, Opposition Leader Rebecca White has slammed the practice, stating its affects are hurting music lovers and bands.
“That’s why all other Australian states have acted to crack down on ticket scalping,’’ White told The Mercury.
“We think it’s time Tasmania followed their lead to stamp out practices that rip off Tasmanians.”

Luca Brasi frontman Tyler Richardson added: “Promoters, bands, managers, venues, everyone works so hard to set a fair price for these tickets that punters can afford.
“To then realise they are getting ripped off themselves, everyone loses out on this apart from these people that get away with it every time.”
White is calling for restrictions on how much tickets can be sold for (no more than 10% above face value) as well as the banning of ticket bots.
In response, a spokesman for the Premier of Tasmania Will Hodgman stated the State Government was “supporting work at the federal level to progress amendments that would require ticket resale websites to disclose the face value of tickets”.
