The speculation was all worth it - It’s been a long time coming, but Tool will finally return to Australia in 2020 in support of their latest LP.

Fear Inoculum, the band’s fifth studio album and first in 13 years, dropped in late August, debuting at #1 on the ARIA Albums chart and giving fans hope they’d venture Down Under in the near future.

The tour will kick off in Perth in mid-February before taking on Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne, with special guests to be announced.

Speaking with The Music ahead of the album’s release, Tool's Danny Carey said: “A lot of the thematic stuff on the album... is about reaching this point where you have the courage to conquer your fears and do whatever you want to do, and be creative and not care what other people think. We’re not the types who are going to get plastic surgery to try and look like we’re younger. I think we can grow old gracefully and be happy with ourselves. And that’s the gist of the record, I believe.”

Ticket pre-sale goes live next on November 20 at 2pm local time, with general public on-sale available from 2pm on November 22.
