Homegrown hardcore heavyweights Parkway Drive have announced the arrival of their eagerly awaited fifth album, titled Ire, which they'll be taking out on the road this September and October for a national tour.
The Ire Australian tour will kick off on Wednesday, 23rd September at Perth's Red Hill Auditorium and will travel to Adelaide, Melbourne, Hobart, Brisbane, Byron Bay, Sydney, Canberra and Newcastle. Joining Parkway Drive are special guests Suicide Silence, Memphis May FIre and The Word Alive.
Parkway Drive say Ire represents a creative leap for the band, and is bigger, heavier, has more depth and is more melodic than anything they've done in the past.
'This is the album for us. Every single step of the way, whenever there was gamble to take, we took the biggest one we could,' explains singer Winston McCall.
'If this isn't the album that can go further than anything we thought was possible with this band and this type of music, that's fine, but we can't go back from this as far as we're concerned.'
Ire is the follow-up to Parkway Drive's acclaimed 2012 album Atlas, and will be released on Friday, 25th September. Today the band have given us a taste of the album, via the video for its first single Vice Grip - which features the band members casually jumping out of planes.
