Bernard Fanning, who was recently announced as part of the Splendour lineup, is about to embark on a solo tour throughout July and August. These shows will be his first time on stage since Powderfinger's goodbye tour in 2010.
FasterLouder recently spoke to Fanning, who described his current band and preparations. "I've got a mostly new band together [and] a couple of the guys from the old [Tea and Sympathy era] band are playing again with me this time. But I wanted to refresh it a little bit. We start jamming next week, actually." The full interview will be published later in the week.
This tour will be a chance for fans to hear songs from Fanning's forthcoming album Departures, which is due on June 7 through Dew Process/Universal. You can listen to the first taste of the album, 'Battleships', below.
Fanning's support acts on this tour will be Big Scary and Vance Joy, with special guests The Rubens, The Medics and Snakadaktal added for a plus-sized Cairns date at the Kuranda Amphitheatre on August 17.
