PETE MURRAY ANNOUNCES TOUR Pete Murray is back with his first Australian tour in over two years to support the release of his brand spanking new album "Blue Sky Blue". "The Free Tour" will feature Pete's hits, some new songs, a new band and sees him returning to the venues where many of his loyal fans experienced his early dynamic live shows. Tickets for all shows will go on sale at 9am on Friday, September 2nd - the same day Pete's new album lands in stores across the country. The highly anticipated album "Blue Sky Blue" features the first single from the album "Always A Winner" which embraces his exciting new sound, inspired by new chapters in his personal life. Hitting top 5 in the airplay charts immediately around Australia, the single reflects a conscious change in the recording approach with a new team of musicians and working with U.S. producer Tom Rothrock (Beck, Foo Fighters, Elliott Smith). "The Free Tour" takes its name from the new single that landed this week - "Free", a song about breaking loose from the shackles and a perfect title for a tour that comes after such a long break from Australian gigging. "I'm really looking forward to finally getting back out on the road and playing these shows", explains Pete. "The new album took longer to write and record than anything I've done since "Feeler" so I'm really looking forward to playing some of these songs to people. Plus it's time to continue my quest to try to find the perfect truck stop burger!" Pete recently returned home after a massive sold out tour of Brazil where he made the beautiful video for "Free". "There was something about the liberating energy of that country which felt like a great fit for this song", explains Murray. "We shot the film clip as the tour happened over there so hopefully when people watch it they'll get a sense of what it was like to be playing shows in such an amazing place." "Blue Sky Blue" is Pete Murray's fourth studio album; his three previous releases having sold over a million copies in Australia and the listeners of Triple J recently voted his classic "Feeler" in the top 100 Aussie albums of all time.
