After months of anticipation, Melbourne’s favourite synth–rock darlings THE GALVATRONS are back to save the world!!

The band announce a string of dates to coincide with the release of a brand new track taken from their upcoming debut album (“Laser Graffiti”) due for release on June 5, 2009

“Cassandra” is the explosive new single to be lifted from The Galvatrons debut album and sees the band pick right up where they left off. The track (and forthcoming album) has been produced and mixed by the formidable Scott Horscroft whose production credits include some of Australia’s biggest names (The Presets, The Panics, Silverchair and The Sleepy Jackson).

2008 was a huge year for The Galvatrons with the title track from the bands EP “When We Were Kids” gaining #1 most added at radio and made the band one of Rolling Stone’s “top 5 artists to watch in 2008”.

The band hit the road playing over 150 live shows in Australia alone, supporting the likes of Shihad, The Presets and You Am I, and if that wasn’t massive enough they secured their first stadium tour with rock legends Def Leppard and Cheap Trick helping solidify their place in the Australian live music scene.

The band played to festival crowds including Big Day Out, Splendour in the Grass, Meredith Music Festival, Come Together, Push Over, Groovin’ the Moo, Foreshore Festival, and Pyramid Rock, they also made the journey across to the UK and Germany, where they supported amongst other shows The Police in London’s Hyde Park.
