Cult filmmaker John Waters will be making his return to the Sydney Opera House this year.

Waters, who is known for films like Pink Flamingos, Hairspray, Cry-Baby and Mondo Trasho, last appeared at the Opera House in 2014 and will return this October with his new show Make Trouble, following the release of his new book Mr. Know-It-All: The Tarnished Wisdom of a Filth Elder, which is due out in September.

“John Waters is a true legend whose unique and distinctive aesthetic has had an immeasurable effect on cinema and queer culture," says Dr Edwina Throsby, Sydney Opera House Head of Talks & Ideas.

"I have high hopes that the audience for his unmissable talk will laugh, cry, and need to suppress a vomit."

John Waters will also tour Make Trouble to Brisbane, Melbourne and Hobart's MONA in October.

Tickets for Waters' appearance go on sale from 9am on Friday 14 June, head to theGuide for all the info.
