The first radio ratings for 2019 are in and it's shaping up to be a big year of Australian radio. See the metro ratings figures below and click on the images for a larger version. See the December 2018 ratings here.

Sydney

KIIS1065's Kyle & Jackie O have started the year in the #1 spot for the Sydney FM breakfast ratings, though their share has dropped 0.4% from the end of 2018 survey, for a total of 10.1% market share. SmoothFM has taken out the second spot with 8.5% (up 1.4% from December), while WSFM's Jonesy & Amanda breakfast show have dropped 0.8% to a total of 8.2% to be the third most listened to FM breakfast program.

Triple J has dropped 0.4% overall in the Sydney ratings, down from 5.8% to 5.4% since December, with its breakfast program remaining steady at 5.2% and its drive program dropping 1.3% to 5.8%.

Melbourne

Melbourne's FM stations have had a major shuffle for most listened to, with Fox 101.9 FM taking over the #1 spot from Smooth 91.5. Fox 101.9 has moved up 0.8% to score 10.4% of the market share, while Smooth 91.5 is down 0.9% to 9.7% and third placed Gold 104.3 FM is down 0.3% to 9.4%.

Triple J has increased its share in Melbourne to 6.3%, up 0.9% from December, and has claimed 5.6% of the breakfast share, up 1.2%. The station's drive program is down 0.4% to 5.6%.

Brisbane

The first ratings of 2019 see Brisbane's Nova 106.9 and Triple M swap positions for #1 and #2 in the ratings, with Nova 106.9 taking in 12.9% and Triple M just behind at 12.4%. 

Triple J has pulled in 7.8% of the market overall, down 0.6% from December, with its breakfast program dropping 0.3% to 7.4% and drive dropping from 10.1% to 8.2%.

Perth

Triple J picks up its best score of the survey in Perth, increasing its share 2% to 11% across the board. The growth is reflected across the board for triple j, with the station picking up increases across all programs, including a 2.7% jump at breakfast (10.7% share), 2.9% for afternoons (12.3% share), 0.7% for drive (11.4% share) and 3.2% for evenings (9.3%).

Mix 94.5 remains Perth's #1 FM station increasing 0.8% to a 15.6% market share, with Nova 93.7 claiming second place and 12.2% of the share (down 1.5% from December).

Adelaide

Mix 102.3 remains the SA capital's #1 FM station increasing its share to a massive 13.3%, while second placed Nova 91.9 sees a growth of 1.0% to claim 11.2% of the market.

Triple J has seen an increase of 0.3% overall (taking it to 6.8%), with its drive program experiencing huge growth at 9% (up .09% from December).
