Adelaide trio Hilltop Hoods have just scored just made ARIA Chart history, picking up their fifth straight #1 album with The Great Expanse.

This makes them just the third act to pick up five straight #1 albums on the ARIA Albums Chart, joining alongside Silverchair and Powderfinger for the accolade. The hip hop outfit had already cracked the record if you included their 2016-released remix album, Drinking from the Sun, Walking Under Stars Restrung, however they currently sat at four number one records when applied specifically to studio albums.

Speaking on The Music Podcast recently, Hilltop Hoods' Suffa said that they wanted to pick up the award as a 'reward' for everyone who worked with them on The Great Expanse.

"It's important to us because a lot of people worked on this record," he said. "Our label, our management... we want everyone, apart from us, to be rewarded for how hard they've worked." Aussie success continues down the ARIA Album Chart with Julia Jacklin's Crushing picking up #8 on its debut, and international acts have also had strong debut weeks with Dream Theater coming in at #10, Offset at #18, Gary Clark Jr at #23, Kehlani at #29 and Lil Pump at #33.

Over on the ARIA Singles Chart, Lady Gaga & Bradley Cooper's performance of Shallow at the Academy Awards has obviously made an impact, seeing the track go from #6 to #1 this week, pushing Ariana Grande's 7 Rings and Break Up With Your Girlfriend, I'm Bored down to #2 and #3 respectively.

Hilltop Hoods' Leave Me Lonely has crept up to #11 from #19 last week, Pink's Walk Me Home debuts at #12, and The Chainsmoker's track with 5 Seconds Of Summer, Who Do You Love, reaches its highest point yet at #13.
