An Oscar and Grammy-winning lyricist, Norman Gimbel has passed away aged 91.
As BBC reports, Gimbel’s family confirmed he passed away on December 19 at his home in Montecito, California.
The Songwriters Hall of Fame inductee was known for his work in film and television, contributing to the theme songs for Laverne & Shirley, Happy Days, The Paper Chase, Wonder Woman and more, while also writing hits such as Killing Me Softly With His Song, Sway and I Got A Name.
Music organisation BMI said Gimbel was “a truly gifted and prolific writer” who will be “greatly missed by his friends and fans”.
