Describing Troye Sivan’s year as absolutely huge would be an understatement, and 2018 isn’t over yet for the Perth singer-songwriter, who has today been shortlisted as a potential Oscars nominee.

The news comes just over a week after Sivan picked up a Golden Globe nomination for Revelation from Joel Edgerton-directed film Boy Erased, with the new single now in the running to be nominated for Best Original Song at the 2019 Oscars.

It was one of 15 songs to make the shortlist, which was narrowed down from 90 eligible tunes. The nominations will be unveiled on January 22.

Also making the shortlist in the same category is Kendrick Lamar for All The Stars from Black Panther, Dolly Parton for Girl In The Movies from Dumplin', Lady Gaga for Shallow from A Star Is Born, Sampha for Treasure from Beautiful Boy, Thom Yorke for Suspirium from Suspiria and more.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences also unveiled the shortlist for eight other categories, including Documentary Feature, Documentary Short Subject, Foreign Language Film, Makeup and Hairstyling, Music (Original Score), Animated Short Film, Live Action Short Film and Visual Effects.

The 91st Oscars will take place on February 24. Check out the full Best Original Song shortlist here.
