Australian comedian and Please Like Me star Josh Thomas has inked a deal with US Disney-owned network Freeform to develop a 10-episode series.

The network ordered a 20-minute pilot for Thomas’ Everything's Gonna Be Okay back in May and today has greenlit the series for a full 10-episode run, according to Hollywood Reporter.

Thomas will star in the production as Nicholas, a neurotic 25 year old who is forced to take care of his two teenage half-sisters after the devastating loss of their father.

"The absolute bestest thing about having a brand-new TV show is getting to create new characters," Thomas said.

"I love the characters in this show, and I love how our cast depicts them — they are funny and kind and fascinating. I feel very grateful to Freeform for giving me the opportunity to introduce them to you."

Everything's Gonna Be Okay will join Grown-ish, Cloak And DaggerPretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists and more on the network.

Freeform President Tom Ascheim described Thomas as “a master of creativity” both "both on and off-screen”.

“We’re thrilled to be partnering with Josh to tell the story of this unconventional, quirky family that will spark many conversations around love, grief and adulating,” he said.

The comedy will also star Kayla Cromer, Maeve Press and Adam Faison.
