Thinkers, activists, scientist, artists and more will come together for engaging, inspiring and thought-provoking conversations at WOMADelaide 2019.
The Adelaide mega-festival has today revealed its full 2019 Planet Talks program, with political identity Natasha Stott Despoja (Chair of Our Watch and Australia's former Ambassador for Women and Girls) confirmed to deliver an International Woman’s Day address, before engaging in conversation with journalist and political commentator Annabel Crabb.
Renowned broadcasters Fran Kelly and Patricia Karvelas will bring their podcast, The Party Room, to the event, while Ecovative’s Gavin McIntyre talks the “magic of mushrooms”, and a number of other experts in various sectors dive deep into climate change.
“The growing appeal and appetite of festival audiences for the discussion forum provided by the Planet Talks, has led us to move the program from Speakers’ Corner into a new purpose built venue - the ‘Frome Park Pavilion’ which will comfortably seat up to 500 patrons for each of these fascinating discussions and conversations,” WOMADelaide Director Ian Scobie said.
WOMADelaide 2019 will go down from 8-11 March in Adelaide's Botanic Park with Angelique Kidjo, The Original Gypsies, John Butler Trio, Julia Jacklin, Tkay Maidza and stacks more in tow.
