It's going to be a big year for Aussie talent at Spain's Primavera Sound festival in 2019!

It's today been announced that Perth's Tame Impala and Melbourne's Courtney Barnett are among the 2019 headliners, along with a stack of other Aussie talent on the line-up.

Joining Tame Impala and Barnett on the line-up are Pond, Amyl & The Sniffers, Fantastic Man & Tornado Wallace, and Lisa Gerrard who will be appearing with The Mystery Of The Bulgarian Voices.

New Zealand talent Aldous Harding will also be playing the festival, while Brisbane act Hatchie and Auckland group The Beths will be appearing at the Primavera A La Ciutat offshoot event.

Solange, Erykah Badu, Future, Interpol, Cardi B, Janelle Monae and Jarvis Cocker will also be playing the festival, which takes place at the end of May next year.

Primavera have dubbed next year's event as "The New Normal", marking the first year where the festival has achieved gender parity on its line-up.

"Is the Primavera Sound 2019 line-up normal? No, but we want it to be," they said in a statement with the line-up.

"The New Normal, or the new normality, is the idea on which the universe of the nineteenth edition of the Barcelona festival is based. From May 30th to June 1st 2019, the Parc del Fòrum of Barcelona will be witness to an exceptional edition. A turning point."

"If half of our audience is female, why shouldn’t half of our line up be so too?"

Head to the Primavera Sound website here to check out the full line-up.
