Mushroom Music Publishing has today announced a huge reciprocal sub publishing deal with Bucks Music Group.
The deal will see the two publishing groups "represent each other’s catalogues in their respective home territories of the UK and Australia/New Zealand."
This will see Bucks represent the likes of Julia Jacklin, Vance Joy, Violent Soho, Nick Murphy, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, Jack River and more in the UK, as well as acts like Sunnyboys, Split Enz, The Triffids, Skyhooks, The Vines.
Bucks represents works written by the likes of David Bowie, The Rolling Stones, Beyonce, Joe Strummer, Brian Eno, Run The Jewels and more.
"By having Bucks and Mushroom work together in this way, we feel we can create a powerful independent force," says Bucks Music Group MD Simon Platz.
"There are a number of parallels in the structure, philosophy and approach of both companies that means we will be able to work together very effectively.
"Like our own, the Mushroom catalogue is incredibly deep and rich, and we are both family run businesses that remain incredibly active in terms of searching for, signing and developing young, exciting talent."
“Bucks are a real music company that not only has a rich history but a presence in the United Kingdom that I'm sure will be of great benefit to our writers," adds Mushroom Music MD Ian James.
"It will be our pleasure to represent their music in Australia and New Zealand and through the pan-Asian licensing system in SE Asia."
The deal will come into effect from 1 January 2019.
