Sometimes you don’t realise you need something until you see it, which is exactly the category that Peking Duk’s children’s book falls into.

Yes, you read that right, and soon the gig-goers of tomorrow will be able to read DJ Duks, penned by dance duo Adam Hyde and Reuben Styles.

As Styles explains, DJ Duks is a “cautionary tale of two little ducks named Adam and Roobs with big dreams of fame, fortune and #millionfollowerstatus on Quakker.

“Through the twists and turns of the music industry, the DJ DUKS get to hang out with celebrities (some with millions of followers), own fancy cars and live in a mansion but they soon notice the emptiness of these people around them and the world of social media.

“Adam and Roobs have to figure out a way to reconnect with the friends and the music they’ve left back at home in the Ducklands.”

Hyde added: “This is a very special project for us, we are proud of DJ Duks and excited to see how kids of all ages react to it.”

The book will be released by their music publisher, BMG, and was illustrated by Sydney artist Alex Lehours.

“Adam and Reuben are two of the most innovative and exploratory musicians I’ve ever worked with and it was an absolute joy for our team to collaborate with them on this truly unique children’s book,” BMG Managing Director Heath Johns said.

“As a father of two music obsessed daughters, I’ve seen them fall in love with the book and the beautifully illustrated characters by acclaimed Sydney street artist Alex Lehours. DJ Duks is definitely a banger!”

Pre-orders are now available via the DJ Duks website, with delivery expected mid-December.

And if a children’s book wasn’t enough, they’re offering up various bundles that include rubber duck sets, headphones, keyrings and more.

Peking Duk are kicking goals in every direction as of late, following up global touring and sold out shows across Australia by claiming five ARIA Awards nominations last month. Watch Hyde and Styles chat about their 'literary tome' below.
