Apple has announced it has appointed Rebekah Horne as its new head of music and other services across Australia and New Zealand.
As Music Business Worldwide reports, the Sydney-based Horne will take over the role as Country Director for Apple Music, Apple News, Apple Books, iTunes and the App Store.
Horne previously worked as Chief Digital & Data Officer for the National Rugby League (NRL) and oversaw the recent rebuild of its digital network. Prior to this, she worked as Chief Digital Officer at Network Ten after she was appointed MySpace's first Australian employee, where she went on to become the network's GM for Europe and Australia before taking over the role of head of international operations.
Her appointment follows the news that SOUNDS AUSTRALIA was recently upgraded to Global Curator status on Apple Music, meaning they can now further promote Aussie music overseas.
This means the organisation will now have better visibility on the platform worldwide, making it easier for Apple Music users to find SOUNDS AUSTRALIA's curated playlists featuring Aussie acts.
