Melbourne electronic duo Two People have seemingly impressed the right people at their BIGSOUND showcase earlier in the year, announcing today their signing to Brooklyn-based label Terrible Records.
The news come as the pair share another single from forthcoming debut album. Speaking about the track - dubbed In The Garden - vocalist Phoebe Lou said, "It’s about gaining my power back for the first time and the clumsiness in that."
Two People are currently on the road with LUCIANBLOMKAMP after playing their first live show at Splendour In The Grass earlier in the year. Their showcases at BIGSOUND drew attention from Max Wortman from Terrible Records.
“My love for Two People first manifested in Australia after seeing them at BIGSOUND," he said.
"It was one of the most tight knit, intricate, and emotionally involved live performances I’ve seen in years. The dedication Phoebe and Joey have to their craft is unrivalled - beyond anything I’ve interacted with in a long time. I’m honoured to be working with them. Two People are the future - a progressive and self-aware act. I’m looking forward to building them in the United States.”
They will join a roster of Solange, Moses Sumney, Empress Of and Blood Orange.
