APRA AMCOS have today released the full details of their brand new Professional Development Series For Women.
The series, which kicked off in Brisbane last night, "aims to provide ‘In Real Life’ resources to a broader group of women and non-binary members who are looking for creative and business skills to support them in their professional pursuits."
The series came about following the organisation's inaugural Female Mentoring program, which was launched earlier this year and is an initiative created to "address the gender imbalance across membership ranks."
Music publicist and accredited coach Viv Fantin is the first guest presenting as part of the Professional Development Series, where she will share her session Tune Out Your Inner Critic, which will teach crowds how to acknowledge their 'inner critic' and figure out how to give it less attention.
“I’m so thrilled to be part of APRA AMCOS' Professional Development Series for Women," says Fantin.
"I see women from the creative fields crippled by their inner critic all the time, and I’m talking about seriously talented individuals who have many reasons to feel accomplished and confident, yet are undermined by negative self-talk."
"My hope is that the tools from this presentation will allow the inner critic to visit less frequently, speak more quietly and take up less head space."
The series is open to APRA AMCOS members, with the Melbourne event taking place tonight, Sydney tomorrow night and Adelaide, Perth and Darwin to follow in the coming months. Head here for more information.
The Music caught up with Fantin ahead of her appearance at this year's BIGSOUND conference. Read the interview, and find out more about her coaching, here.
