Aussie brewery heavyweights Young Henrys have teamed with Byron Bay clothing line Afends to launch a brand new hemp beer.
The exciting collaboration was launched with a private event in the centre of an Organic Hemp Farm in the Byron Bay hinterland last week.
"Afends have been working with hemp as a textile for a while now. I really admire it, they’re facing the challenges of the fashion industry’s use of pesticides on cotton crops and have sought out a more sustainable solution," Young Henrys co-founder, Oscar McMahon, said.
"The legislation that allows hemp to be used in food and beverage products has been a little slower to catch up. But now that our industry is getting behind this versatile crop, it was just the most natural fit to brew a Hemp IPA with our mates at Afends.
"They are also a company that boldly does what they think is right without care for other peoples opinions. What can I say, we like the cut of the Afends jib!"
The first keg will be tapped today in Sydney before launching widely later in the week.
