Following the success of the Australian-first MTV Unplugged series and plans to revive MTV TRL next year, MTV has announced it will launch a local version of one its most popular shows this year - MTV Cribs.

Set to premiere on October 17, the show will kick with first guests, radio jock Kyle Sandilands and his partner Imogen Anthony.

MTV Australia has confirmed to The Music today that viewers can expect future guests from all fields; musicians, actors, comedians and many more.

“The response to the revivals of MTV’s iconic properties has been incredibly positive, so an Australian version of MTV Cribs felt like the perfect format to revitalise next,” Vice President and head of MTV Asia Pacific, Simon Bates, said.

“The popularity of MTV Cribs spans decades, and who better than Kyle and Imogen to kick off a look into the inner sanctum of Australia’s biggest and flashiest celebrities.”

Meanwhile, Sydney outfit DMA'S have been announced as the next act to perform on MTV Unplugged which will be filmed in front of a live audience in Melbourne next week.
