Hannah Gadsby has been announced as one of the 2018 honourees for the Australian In Film Awards, taking place in LA next month.
The Tasmanian comedian will receive the Create NSW Annette Kellerman award at the ceremony celebrating Australian talent, to be held at Paramount Pictures Studios on 24 October, following her globally-acclaimed comedy show, Nanette, which hit Netflix in June.
“There is no mystery to how I came to be the recipient of the Annette Kellerman Award, I love neck to knee swimwear, I excelled at synchronised swimming (individual category) and Annette is an anagram of Nanette – like everything in Hollywood it is about connections," Gadsby said.
The news comes after Gadsby stole last week's Emmys while presenting an award; check it out below.
Other Australians to be honoured at the event include Damon Herriman (set to play Charles Manson in Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon A Time In Hollywood), Keiynan Lonsdale (The Flash), Eliza Scanlen (Sharp Objects), Academy Award-winning film editor Lee Smith (Dunkirk, Inception) and producer Mark Johnson (Rain Man, Breaking Bad).
