Following its shock departure from Hobart earlier this year after a near-decade long run, Mona Foma has today announced its 2019 dates at its new home in Launceston.
The festival's core program will run from 18-20 January, with stand-alone events to also take place in the Tasmanian city from 13 January leading up to the main weekend.
“We have been enthralled with the hospitality, infrastructure, natural beauty and general quirkiness of Launceston," Mona Foma curator, Brian Ritchie, said.
"We’re working with new venues and artists; and we’re really looking forward to sharing this Mona Foma with our festivalgoers. We’re excited to say we’ve landed on a festival that will be identifiably Mofo—with a Launceston bent.”
The full program is expected to be announced on 12 October.
