APRA AMCOS has just announced the organisation has reached 100,000 members.
Electronic music producer, Natsuko Yonezawa took part in the SongMakers program two years ago while at high school and is now enrolled at the ANU School of Music. She applied for membership earlier this year, and her eligibility confirms her as the milestone member.
APRA AMCOS Chief Executive Dean Ormston met Yonezawa last week and said the organisation "is committed to supporting all of [their] 100,000 songwriter, composer and music publisher members in impactful ways throughout their career".
“These include being introduced to music industry opportunities at school through SongMakers, learning about song craft at the Starting Ground workshops presented by our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Music Office, right through to collaborating with high-profile international producers at SongHubs," he said.
Due to the now unprecedented number of members, APRA AMCOS has established business and creative spaces in LA, Nashville and London.
