Kyle Sandilands has broken his silence on Kyle & Jackie O's three-year domination of FM breakfast radio coming to an end this week, claiming the latest survey results are "inaccurate".

As The Daily Telegraph reports, the shock jock discussed this week's radio ratings on air this morning, which saw the KIIS duo lose top spot to WSFM's Jonesy & Amanda, saying, "I don’t even believe those ratings are true".

"As if half of 18 to 24-year-olds decided 'I'm going to listen to the Doobie Brothers and Roy Orbison from now on, screw what Kyle and Jackie O are doing' — that's just not real," Sandilands said.

"A lot of people do not know how to understand radio ratings, especially people that work at the newspapers. They just have no idea. So it saddens me. In my mind, we are still number one — I couldn’t give a shit what anyone says."

Co-host Jackie Henderson pushed back on Sandilands' comments, saying he was in "denial" and "you can’t not believe [the ratings] when they don’t work in your favour and believe them when they do".

Sandilands at the very least accepted losing top spot to his fellow veteran radio hosts, saying, "I went around and said good on you to Amanda and Jonesy".
