Sydney post-rockers sleepmakeswaves have released a video tribute to celebrate 30 years of Metallica 's album …And Justice For All.
The tribute features the band performing track To Live Is To Die, filmed at Sydney’s Jungle Studios by Keeper Films.
In a statement, the band owned up to the fact they "are Metallica fanboys".
"Their ability to blend complex and developing compositions with ferocious riffs and compelling melody was a big part of the musical world we continue to be influenced by," the band said.
"The most ambitious and technical album by far was …And Justice For All, released 30 years ago almost to the day in August 1988. As a tribute to the record Alex and Otto convinced Tim to do a sleepmakeswavesified cover of the album’s instrumental track To Live Is To Die. We tuned it down five steps, reconfigured some of the riffs and played with the structure slightly, but otherwise our cover is a fairly faithful recreation of a track we love."
The band will also be on tour to celebrate their own 10th anniversary throughout September and October.
