In support of their forthcoming album, The Church Of Simultaneous Existence, The Aints! will embark on a headline tour of the country this year.
Kicking off in October, the Ed Kuepper-fronted outfit will perform in Coolangatta, Brisbane, Melbourne, Castlemaine, Sydney, Newcastle, Perth, Margaret River and Fremantle.
Due out globally on Friday 21 September through ABC Music, The Church Of Simultaneous Existence is made entirely of lost songs written by Kuepper from 1973-1978 but never recorded.
"Things had started to move fairly quickly once The Saints recorded [I’m] Stranded (Fatal Records) in mid ’76," Kuepper said.
"We recorded three albums over the next two years as well as doing a fair it of touring, and for a while things were looking very promising, however, business problems, compounded by personal and artistic differences meant the band didn’t get around to recording all the material I had lying around…
"So 40 [very] odd years later it occurred to me that these songs might well have made up a hypothetical fourth album, The Church of the Simultaneous Existence. The songs that refused to die… performed in much the way they would have had the band not split up in 1978."
Tickets for the tour go on sale from 9am this Friday (24 August); for more details, click on theGuide.
