Nat Geo's 'Symphony For Our World' Venues Confirm Support For Plastic Reduction Initiative

The three Australian venues who will play host to National Geographic's Symphony For Our World, have confirmed they all support the National Geographic initiative to reduce the use of plastic. 

The 'Planet Or Plastic' initiative is "aimed at raising awareness of this challenge and reducing the amount of single-use plastic that enters in the world’s oceans".

Australian tour promotor Dale Harrison said that he "was pleased to be engaging with National Geographic and our venue partners to continue the good work being done in reducing the use of plastics".

"The natural history footage shown at the live concerts is a reminder of the beauty and fragility of this wondrous planet we all share,” he said. 

The tour kicks off at Brisbane’s Convention and Exhibition Centre this Sunday who have confirmed they will go straw free and reduce single use plastic wherever possible for the show. Both Sydney’s ICC and Melbourne's Hamer Hall have discontinued single use plastic straws.

Sydney's ICC have also just announced a partnership with Sydney Water and stopped the use of over one million plastic water bottles in the venue. Melbourne's Hamer Hall have also committed to using recyclable food packing wherever possible.
