Russian-German EDM superstar Zedd (aka Anton Zaslavski) has revealed his dream to work with Daniel Johns of Silverchair and DREAMS.

Speaking with theMusic.com.au from Sydney, the DJ/producer/musician spoke of how Silverchair inspired his early career.

"Silverchair's been one of my favourite bands of all time. I used to be in a band for almost nine years and we were called Dioramic, which was inspired by Silverchair's album Diorama," said Zaslavski.

"So they were a really, really big influence in my career and I probably wouldn't be making the music I make today if it wasn't for them."

In fact, Zaslavski came close to working with Johns.

"We were actually gonna work together on a song in, I believe, 2013 or 2014. It just never worked out and the song wasn't right for us, but we were talking about potentially collaborating on a song. So it's definitely possible that maybe one day that will happen."

The Grammy-winning Zaslavski – who so far this year has released the mega-hit The Middle (with Maren Morris and Grey) and its follow-up Happy Now (with Elley Duhe) – is currently touring Australia with Katy Perry.
