The Book Of Mormon also took out the coveted Best Musical award at last year's Helpmanns, while co-creator Trey Parker and co-director and choreographer Casey Nicholaw were awarded Best Direction of a Musical.
Speaking with The Music last year, co-director and choreographer Casey Nicholaw said “part of the success of Book Of Mormon is the fact that you had all of this shocking language in a musical, so people are singing about fucking a frog — they’re singing those words in a traditional musical”.
Tickets for the Brisbane and Adelaide seasons go on sale tomorrow (7 August); click here for more details.
