If scoring a #1 Australian debut wasn't already a big enough deal, the success of Amy Shark's Love Monster LP has continued in the US.

The Queensland artist's debut record has landed at #2 on the US Billboard Heatseekers Albums chart, placing just behind US post-hardcore outfit Hopesfall's Arbiter at #1.

Shark has made her way onto the Emerging Artists list as well, placing at #27 alongside names like One Direction's Louis Tomlinson, Billie Eilish, Lauv and Morgan Evans.

Shark appeared on The Music Podcast at last weekend's Splendour In The Grass just hours after finding out Love Monster had debuted at #1 in Australia.

"It's really hard to digest. I'm on a high," she told host Neil Griffiths of the news.

"But, obviously I know this is a massive deal. I'm so proud of this record and I believe it deserves it. I'm just so happy the country thought the same way."

Shark will return to Australia in August for a huge headline tour, while her filmed performance on MTV Unplugged last night will broadcast on Foxtel in September
