Having only released his second studio album, Electric Light, this past May, UK artist James Bay has revealed he is already working on brand new music.

Speaking on The Music Podcast at Splendour In The Grass this past weekend, the 27-year-old said he is keen to write new material while still touring Electric Light.

"I'm gonna sort of dive back in as often as possible to make new music and see what else is sort of available… I'm gonna keep working at that to do some more," Bay told host Neil Griffiths.

"I think there's this realisation that these days people are really excited to hear new music and then they want to hear some more. And I think that's kind of great.

"I'm going to check out what else I have to offer writing-wise."

Bay confirmed the writing process is underway, but is unsure of the direction the music is taking,

"I think that's the bit I'm still exploring because of course, like all of my music, it's born from a guitar and my voice obviously," he said.

"I don't know where it's going after that..."
