Get excited Tame Impala fans because Kevin Parker just shared some very exciting news.
Speaking with Matt Wilkinson on Apple Music's Beats 1 program, Parker said he'd be "disappointed" if there wasn't a new Tame Impala album out by this time next year.
"I would very much hope so," said Parker when asked by Wilkinson if fans can expect an album by June/July 2019.
"I'd be really disappointed if there wasn't something out by then. I mean, I love playing the songs live, I love playing current songs, I love playing Lonerism songs and everything but I think I'm ready to play some other songs live."
Parker also shared that fans will have to wait for the official release of new music before hearing any forthcoming tracks, as he prefers them to listened to as recorded rather than live for their first experience.
"My thing is that I don't like to play unreleased songs live. I like that the first time people hear it is the kind of recorded glory, the premeditated thing that I've spent two years on, rather than us just being half-drunk, bashing it out on stage," he laughs.
