With Indie-Con Australia only a week away, the who’s who of the independent music industry are getting ready to descend on Adelaide.
He's set to tackle some big issues during Indie-Con (including How The Indies Can Change The World) but the one and only Dom Alessio spoke with The Music to help you navigate through the massive program, as well as highlighting his top three sessions to see at this year’s conference.
The event is taking over the Hindley next week and while you might already have a solid idea of what sessions to attend, you can now access the full program here to get any final planning in, including using Alessio's hot tips of course. Check them out below.
CLOSING KEYNOTE: CHARLES CALDAS
I’ve been lucky enough to see Charles speak at a couple of conferences overseas this year. He’s done incredible work heading up Merlin, the organisation that represents the rights of indie labels worldwide. I’m sure he’ll have a lot of interesting things to say and wisdom to impart.
PARTNERSHIPS IN MUSIC
Shout out to my SOUNDS AUSTRALIA colleague Millie Millgate who’s moderating this panel. The speakers are all duos who have built record labels together. I reckon it’ll be an fascinating look at what goes into building a business and managing the creative and the personal.
INDIE-CON PRESENTS: BOLSTER
It feels like artists almost need a digital marketing degree these days to promote their music, and technology moves so fast it’s really hard to keep up with all the changes. So this should be a really interesting talk by Anthony and Paige from Bolster because they’re talking about trends in music and marketing and that’s very useful info.
To see Alessio and more great panels, head to the Indie-Con Australia website here for more info.
