Fast-rising, singer-songwriter Didirri Peters has come a long way from busking on the streets of Melbourne, having just signed an exclusive publishing agreement with BMG for Australia and New Zealand.
The songwriter extraordinaire joins a roster of Australian talent at BMG that also includes Peking Duk, LDRU, SAFIA, Golden Features, Winston Surfshirt, AC/DC, Wolfmother, Lance Ferguson, The Living End, and Meg Mac.
With his debut EP Measurements out tomorrow, Peter’s swift climb looks likely to continue as he starts a run of regional tour dates this month, as well as supporting Vance Joy on his upcoming tour. He also will perform at Splendour In The Grass and was a cover star on The Music’s July issue, touted as "the future of Australian music".
Speaking to The Music about his motivation in this month’s cover story, Peters said “A few people have come up to me and said very specifically how a certain song has changed their life, and that is enough for me and that keeps me going”.
