Plans are underway to boost Manly's night-time economy, specifically in the popular Corso main street.
As News Corp reports, an independent planning report will call for the "tired" Corso to be transformed into a Mediterranean-style laneway, featuring new entertainment hubs and bars.
"There’s a fair bit of work to be done there and it’s not going to be done overnight. But this sort of plan is important for getting Manly moving in the right direction," Chamber executive member Tracey Mietzke said.
"We want to make it a more enjoyable experience and declutter The Corso, getting rid of some of the bins that block the flow, improve street seating, activate some entertainment zones and bring back outdoor dining."
Mietzke continued, "It’s about getting a lovely, vibrant night-time economy going where there are more bars and restaurants, as well as music and street art".
Some hugely popular live music venues are located in The Corso, including Hotel Steyne and The Old Manly Boatshed.
The plans will be presented to Northern Beaches Mayor Michael Regan and Manly state MP James Griffin at a meeting on 17 July.
