Dave Faulkner's gripping story on ABC's Home Delivery last night was watched by more viewers than some recent TV interviews with massive music names like Daniel Johns, Cher and Gene Simmons.

As TV Tonight reports, the Julia-Zemiro hosted program which airs on Wednesdays at 8pm, gave Faulkner fans an intimate look at his life, upbringing, family and Hoodoo Gurus and was watched by 490,000 people.

The figure surpassed Daniel Johns' highly-publicised interview with Andrew Denton on rival network Seven's Interview (airs on Tuesdays at 9pm) last month, which was watched by 472,000.

Meanwhile, Denton's recent interviews with international music heavyweights also couldn't match Home Delivery's viewership on Wednesday night, including Cher (393,000), Gene Simmons (368,000) and Lily Allen (439,000).
