Indie-Con Australia is back in Adelaide this July held in conjunction with this year’s AIR Awards.
Concentrating on the big issues pressing the independent music scene, Indie-Con Australia brings together the best and brightest of the industry, discussing everything from partnerships to smart marketing, streaming and indie repertoire and all the independent industry action.
The full speakers program has just been released bringing girls to the front with pioneering indie legend Molly Neuman, founding member of Riot Grrrl band Bratmobile who currently heads up Global Business Development at Songtrust.
Further highlights include Charles Caldas returning in honour of Merlin’s ten year anniversary, Justin West from Secret City Records, Director of Legal and Commercial Affairs at WIN, Charlie Phillips and Kill Rock Stars’ Portia Sabin.
Australian speaker highlights include closing keynote from Hoodoo Gurus’ Dave Faulkner, Dom Alessio speaking from his new home at Sounds Australia and Victoria’s new music development office general manager Bonnie Dalton.
Programmer for the annual conference Stu Watters said “we’re really excited to deliver a program that ups the ante on the Australian independent label sector”.
“We have one of the strongest most vibrant indie sectors in the world and gatherings like Indie-Con are designed to help make our sector and the industry more broadly a better place to do business, putting our artists at the centre of the conversation.”
