Renowned artist management, PR and record label, Habit Music Company, is relaunching itself as a full service marketing agency.
The Music can exclusively reveal that the Brisbane-based company is evolving after its four-year stint, and will now offer services in not only publicity and radio plugging, but also digital strategy, social advertising, domestic and international tour marketing, streaming plugging, re-marketing, email marketing and content creation.
Speaking to The Music today, Habit owner Nick Lynagh said the relaunch is something the company has been working towards "for a long time".
"The depth of services we offer has increased a lot over the last year, so it made sense to make it official," he said.
Habit has previously worked with big names like Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds and Gang Of Youths and Lynagh says they hope to continue campaigns with key artists like this moving forward.
"Ultimately we want to work with artists, managers, promoters and labels who share similar values of honesty and transparency and who are striving to embrace and drive change," he said.
"This includes rethinking your approach to marketing. We have definitely been fortunate to work with some incredible clients, and we are hoping to continue that, of course.
"Gang of Youths and Middle Kids are two projects we are very excited about on an international level. Working in conjunction with local promoters, we take the lead on all of their tour marketing activities both in Australia and overseas, and have been for over 12 months.
"This includes social advertising, re-targeting, email marketing, and content creation across the globe. So we see a lot of opportunity to be working closely with other artists and their management companies on a similar scale."
Lynagh says the news is also exciting for Australian artists who should expect the same high level of service Habit has delivered over the last four years.
"When I quit my job in 2014 to start a PR and Radio business, it was done with one goal in mind - to create the best PR service in the country," Lynagh explains.
"It was born out of frustration mostly and was the result of having had a number of bad experiences hiring PR for bands I was managing.
"I saw an opportunity to create a PR business that put service above everything. I asked myself, 'As a client, what would good service look like?' and set out to implement these initiatives.
"This wasn’t easy at first, especially when it was just me working alone. There was definitely a lot of mistakes. But as the team grew, and we got the right people on board, we have been able to gradually edge much closer to this goal.
"Our lead Publicist Caitlin Crawley has been the driving force behind this. She is a rising star in the making and cares deeply about our clients and upholding our company standards."
Lynagh concludes by saying he hopes Habit's evolution will encourage others to approach marketing with fresh eyes.
"There is so much opportunity out there for artists with new and innovative ways to find your audience.
"And at the same time there is so much opportunity for businesses like ours and anyone working in a similar space to embrace the unknown and to charge forward into uncharted territories."
