Oh Hello! and its iconic leopard print wall are no longer, with news that the venue is shutting up shop on 18 August.

A staple in the Brisbane nightlife scene since 2011, taking over after the Monastery had the same fate, Oh Hello! posted on social media earlier today saying “after seven amazing years, the time has come for us to close our doors and say goodbye to the space we will remember forever as Oh Hello”.

The club has played host to over 250 artists over the years including Skrillex, Flume, ODESZA and Kaytranada and has previously been a principal venue during BIGSOUND.

With a sending off that’s sure to be in style, the club is planning one last series of parties with additional details still to come.

Read the full statement below and make sure you grab one, or seven, last jam jars while you still have the chance.

We had a dream, which was to open a space where people could come together, celebrate the love for music and connect with one another. We call this space Oh Hello today. After 7 amazing years, it has come time for us to close our doors and say goodbye to the space we will remember forever as Oh Hello. Saturday August 18th we will be our last night of trade. Leading up to this, we are planning some really special events and would love to see all of our friends, new and old, for one last series of parties at the venue we call home. We have had the pleasure of hosting such names as Skrillex, Flume, Odesza, Kaytranada, What So Not, Marshmello, Flosstradmaus, RL GRIME, Alison Wonderland, Rufus, Flight Facilities, Duke Dumont, Nero, Disclosure, Tash Sultana, Golden Features, Boys Noize, Baauer plus another 250 others from around the world and nationally. We created some lifelong friendships and memories along the way. Memories that we will never take for granted. Keep your eyes peeled as we release more info in coming weeks. Trust us when we say we are going out with a bang. Thank you for your continued support, R.I.P. OH HELLO!
