Sydneysiders can take a trip to Funky Town this spring, as disco's most iconic divas head to the Sydney Opera House for one night only. Disco Spectacular will bring the era’s greatest hits to life, accompanied by a 45-piece symphony orchestra, on 6 Oct.
Under the baton of George Ellis, the performance will feature an all-star line-up, including the voices that defined the soundtrack of a generation. Guest vocalists include Norma Jean Wright (formerly of Chic), Cynthia Johnson (original voice of Funkytown), Ultra Nate (Stars On 54), Kym Mazelle, Denise Pearson (Five Star) and Pauline Henry (The Chimes).
This extraordinary rollcall of disco legends will be bringing all the hits to the Sydney Opera House concert hall, including floor-filling chart-toppers like I Will Survive, Don’t Stop Til You Get Enough, Hot Stuff, We Are Family, Shake Your Groove Thing, I’m Coming Out, and I’m Every Woman.
