Yesterday, Troye Sivan released the latest track from his forthcoming Bloom LP, Dance To This, featuring none other than Ariana Grande. The song - about skipping parties to "kind of stay at home, and just be with your boyfriend" - instantly (and predictably) racked up roughly a gazillion hits across the stream-a-sphere.

Sivan has since spoken to NZ-born DJ Zane Lowe in an interview on Apple Music’s Beats 1 radio about the collab, and the fairly breezy process behind it, which apparently took "literally a minute" to line-up once the Australian-South African singer summoned the courage to hit up Grande.

"I basically just texted her the song," said Sivan. "I sat on it for a couple of weeks because I'm nervous to ask people for stuff. I don't want to ever put anybody in an uncomfortable position where they’re like, this song is terrible and I don't want to be a part of it. So, I kind of waited and then I was like, you know what, I'm going to regret it if I don't ask.

"She listened to like, the first half of the song and she was like, ‘THESE MELODIES’ in all caps and doing her Ariana Grande thing."

Sivan gave some insight to his massive moment with another pop colossus just last month in Pasadena — when he jumped on stage with Taylor Swift during her globe-trotting Reputation tour to duet his own My My My!.

"First, I asked for tickets to the show, as a fan. I'm like, 'Hey can I get some free tickets?' And she's like, 'Well, yeah, if you come on stage and perform with me.'"

Sivan shared that even ascendent superstars can still get stage fright at those heights, saying, "I thought I was going to faint... I start looking to the left and I'm looking more to the left I'm looking more to the left and the crowd is just not ending. And I know that it's the same on the right. And I'm like, 'Whoa why do I feel like really queasy all of a sudden?'

"But then as soon as we started strutting and I could move, I was completely fine and then it became the best moment of my life."
