Fremantle's The Odd Fellow has been revamped and revived to become The Aardvark, a brand new dive bar focusing on live music.
The basement of the Norfolk Hotel has been converted to make room for the venue, which will offer "great music courtesy of the city’s finest artists showcasing their wares four nights a week."
"With some big things happening at The Norfolk this year we came very close to losing live music in this great space," says Mark Spillane, long-time bartender and venue booker at The Odd Fellow, who is now at the helm of The Aardvark with Greg Sanders.
"That’s why we’ve worked with The Norfolk’s management to help revive this truly great music venue and make sure the good times never end!"
The venue will have a regular weekly program, which includes a residency series on Thursdays, while Fridays and Saturday will be reserved for a "diverse and eclectic mix of international, national and local artists", and Sundays will offer the "Burrow Sessions" with drink specials and live music.
