The owner of WA institution Ambar has announced today the venue will close its doors for good next month. 

The Perth club, dubbed the Home Of The Underground, will call it quits after 17 years following one final party on Saturday 7 July. 

"Ambar has impacted on many lives over the past two decades," owner Liam Mazzuchelli said.

"The fabric of the extremely tight-knit community has forged lifelong friendships. Careers have been launched. Ambar has hosted hundreds of national and international acts as well as winning dozens of awards.
