Tasmanian electro act Sumner have today been announced as the winner of the 2018 Josh Pyke Partnership.

The win will see the duo awarded a $7,500 grant, as well as valuable insight and mentorship from Pyke and meetings with Wonderlick Entertainment's Gregg Donovan and Select Music's Stephen Wade.

"We’re beyond stoked and honoured to be the 2018 recipients of the Josh Pyke Partnership," Sumner (Jack McLaine and Chloe Wilson) said.

"Thanks so much to Josh Pyke, Wonderlick Entertainment, Select Music and APRA AMCOS for giving these Tassie kids a go."

Pyke added, "As always, judging the JP Partnership was a challenge as well as an inspiration.

"This year's bunch of entries was the most diverse to date with a lot more pop and hip hop on display, and the standard over all was excellent.

"The winner this year is Sumner from Tasmania, a duo featuring really excellent production skills and evocative vocals. Their business plan was practical and achievable, and their future looks bright!"

Previous winners of the Josh Pyke Partnership include Angie McMahon, Alex Lahey and Gordi.
