Rumours about who will headline this year's AFL grand final have begun to swirl and the whispers suggest it could be international heavyweights, Bon Jovi and Taylor Swift.

As Herald Sun notes, speculation that Bon Jovi are heading Down Under was sparked after younger brother of Jon and the band's tour manager, Matthew Bongiovi, hinted so on social media.

Meanwhile, Melbourne talkback radio station 3AW have suggested a "country singer turned pop star" is considering taking on the gig, however it seems unlikely given that Swift is due to perform at NRG Stadium in Texas on the day of the grand final, 29 September.

The US songwriter will kick off the Australian leg of her Reputation world tour in Perth on October 19; click on theGuide for more details.

Other big names who will be touring throughout the country at that time include Cher, Skrillex and Peking Duk,

Fellow US act The Killers put on a stellar performance at last year's grand final, while other past acts include Ed Sheeran, Tom Jones and a very memorable showing in 2011 from Meatloaf.
