This year's Byron Writers Festival is bringing some Aussie rock royalty this year, with Tim Rogers announced as one of their guests.
The You Am I frontman is expected to chat about his 2017 memoir, Detours, a book about "a complicated man: a hard-drinking musician with the soul of a poet; a flamboyant flâneur; a raconteur, a romantic and a raffish ne'er-do-well," which has been described as "Patti Smith meet Dylan Thomas, by way of Banjo Paterson."
The event's first line-up includes some stellar guests, including Manal al-Sharif (a women’s rights activist from Saudi Arabia who was at the helm of the Women2Drive movement), Greenpeace's David Ritter and Deputy Leader of the Opposition Tanya Plibersek. The full program expected to drop on 13 June.
The Byron Writers Festival takes place in beautiful Byron Bay from 3-5 August, with workshops will be kicking off from 30 July. Early bird tickets are now on sale; head here for more info.
