A GoFundMe page has been launched to help WA musician Bobby Burgess following a hit and run incident in the US.
Burgess previously played in bands including The Scotch Of Saint James, Drop Macumba, Long Gone Midnight, Abbe May, Gum and Shiny Joe Ryan, and is now a member of The Pros, a Brooklyn-based group.
"Our friend Bobby Burgess was hit by a car Sunday morning May 20th. We don't know anything about the driver aside from the fact that they are from out of town and driving without a license," reads the page.
"His shoulder, his leg and a bone in his ear are broken. He also has severe brain trauma. He's been in the Intensive Care Unit for 6 days and was finally moved out of the ICU into a regular ward to await surgery which is tentatively set for Tuesday as long as the swelling in his head doesn't keep growing."
Funds raised will go towards purchasing a new computer for Burgess, after his was damaged during the incident, and will also assist with "rent, food, medical supplies, and a bed frame that will allow him to get in and out of bed easier."
Donations can be made via the GoFundMe page here.
