Police are searching for a "gang of thugs" who attacked and tried to rob a man near Melbourne's The Tote Hotel earlier this year.
As 9News reports, a 40-year-old man was assaulted by three attackers in the Collingwood laneway next to the famous Keith Haring mural at 3am on 27 January.
CCTV footage shows one of the attackers king-hit the bystander and search his pockets, while another brutally kicks the man in the face before dispersing.
"It was horrible, it was just an unprovoked punch," Senior Constable, Ranai Cullen, said.
"The victim is very lucky that he has made a full recovery given the initial injuries."
It is understood the altercation started after one of the offenders took the man's sunglasses and taunted him with them.
Crime Stoppers are now searching for the three attackers, believed to be aged in their late 20's to early 30's.
"We are concerned that these males may offend again and so it is important that we can identify who they are," Cullen said.
Anyone with information about the attack is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
